I believe that there are some books that exist that encourage hatred of others. A white supremacy guide or incel book, some kind of Mein Kampf text that is held up cultishly, that would certainly not be the work of art the people who read that kind of stuff believe it is. On a slightly lesser note, there might be a ‘self-help’ book that encourages people to do whatever it takes to get to the top… I would also consider that lifestyle and anything that teaches stepping on others to be overrated, to say the least.
As for literature, can you really say that? As an example, ’50 shades of Grey’ is not my bag, but I wouldn’t hate on something that others really enjoyed. I question if people are enjoying the feeling of anger and hatred too much these days. AI prompts to rile people up and rage bait on social media. It feels curated. I’m not sure what the purpose would be of keeping the masses angry, but the enorphins do keep you plugged in to see more ads.
