I’m one of those people who need to learn something every day, so it’s hard to say. I have not done my Italian lesson yet today, but I suspect I’ll learn a new word or something today. .. Hang on…
Un Pescatore = a fisherman. I’m pretty slow at learning Italian. I was so much better at it when I was a kid. I kinda resent the fact that I didn’t speak it with my Dad. At least I’ve got the cooking down; I just need to brush up on a few other skills from his birthplace.
Yesterday, I learned that it takes about ten years for glaucoma to set into blindness once diagnosed. Thank goodness it’s a slow-moving disease and may not even cause blindness if you stay on top of it. My father was blind by his mid-fifties. That’s the problem when you never go to the doctor. Untreated, it can come on fairly quickly. There was no real reason he needed to go blind. I’m glad I learned that yesterday because I’m headed to my mid-fifties, and I also have glaucoma. Thankfully, we have caught it early, and I will likely retain my eyesight for the rest of my life.
